The famous Scarecrow Fair is Scarecrows Big Day Out main event. Hundreds of people gather to enjoy the fair’s amazing stalls, buy bargain priced plants, eat gorgeous local food, jump on fun fair rides, participate in the hilarious country themed games and then finally grab a bargain in our amazing midday monster auction.
Interested in a stall? The fair is a great opportunity to sell your products alongside other top quality, handmade crafts and produce. Come along and be part of the unique country environment of our school .

The Scarecrow competition is open not only to the Gladstone District but also to schools, kindy’s, businesses, organisations, and families that would like to make scarecrows to display in the district or at Scarecrows on the Gobbler. There are fantastic prizes up for grabs! This year’s theme is “The Good, The Bad and the Ugly” (e.g. think politicians, rock stars, cartoon characters, jungle creatures, or even aliens). Pick up your Scarecrow map from the Wairarapa Times Age on 26th October or the Wairarapa Midweek 24th October . From Ocotber 23rd Scarecrow fanatics can use the scarecrow map to drive around the gorgeous Gladstone District, spotting scarecrows.
The scarecrow drive will focus on Gladstone, Te Whiti and Longbush Roads.

SCARECROW COMMUNITY COLOURING COMPETITION
This year we are extending our colouring competition to any budding artists out there. Colour, paste, stick and collage to your hearts content. The only rule is get creative! Make sure you include your name, contact details and age group and drop it into the Scarecrow mail box located at the Wairarapa Times Age building – Chapel Street Masterton by Thursday 1 November 5pm.
